Vic: Snowboarder missing overnight on Mt Buller
MELBOURNE, Aug 23 AAP - A search for a 23-year-old snowboarder missing on Victoria's
Mt Buller since late yesterday will resume this morning.
The New Zealand man failed to meet friends at a cafe on the Bourke Street run at 4.30pm
yesterday, police said.
Police were alerted around 6.30pm and began searching the mountain with local ski patrol staff.
The search continued until about 3am when conditions worsened and forced searchers
to return to the village.
Mt Buller received steady snowfalls last night.
The missing man is believed to be wearing standard day skiwear and is not equipped
with camping gear.
Members of the police search and rescue unit will join ski patrollers scouring the
mountain from 7am, with clear conditions expected.
