Menatelecom renews Motorola deal.

Menatelecom, a leading telecommunications provider based in Bahrain, has announced the extension of its 'managed services' contract with Motorola.

An investment subsidiary of Kuwait Finance House (KFH), Menatelecom said this comes as part of the company's continued investment in WiMAX network expansion.

The agreement was first signed in July 2007 for two years to plan, deploy and manage the nationwide 802.16e-based mobile WiMAX and IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) network in Bahrain.

The extension will enable the company to continue expansion of its WiMAX network with even further capabilities and deliver a wireless service to consumers and enterprises with not only speeds of up to 18Mb, but also an advanced voice and nomadic broadband data for customers across the Kingdom, it stated.

Abdul Razak Jawahery, executive manager at KFH -- Bahrain, and vice chairman & managing director of Menatelecom said with Motorola's WiMAX solution, Menatelecom's infrastructure will be compatible with technology that can be embedded in numerous future devices, including laptops and mobile phones.

'Since the launch of its WiMAX services, Menatelecom has had the unique opportunity of significantly contributing towards the development of the Kingdom's technological advances and make a mark on a global scale while at the same time creating a prosperous telecom business,' Jawahery noted.

'Motorola has done a remarkable job so far and we are confident that Menatelecom will be in good hands throughout 2011,' he added.

Menatelecom's solutions include high-speed internet access with unlimited downloads and dedicated speeds up to 150 Mbps in addition to VPN solutions; Carrier Pre-Select Service (CPS); International Private Leased Circuit (IPLC); Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) and Call Centre Hosting to name a few of the solutions offered.

All these services are enhanced and monitored by a Network Operations Centre working 24/7 to ensure a seamless operation, supported by a Call Centre managing customer queries, in addition to a dedicated line for Business customers.- TradeArabia News Service
